Joe Franses: Loved hearing Christiana Figueres talking about the need for both outrage and optimism in tackling the climate crisis.
Independent Forums: What is your biggest source of motivation?
Joe Franses: Understanding that human ingenuity has no limits – we have the ideas, innovation and creative thinking to solve the challenges we face – we just have to make it happen.
Independent Forums: How would you describe a typical day?
Joe Franses: Never a typical day – I’m lucky that I get to talk about sustainability topics with a wide variety of people, at many different levels across various organizations.
Independent Forums: What’s one thing about you that most people don’t know?
Joe Franses: My Dad was born in Greece – so I’m half Greek!
Independent Forums: What’s one thing about your organization that you wish more people knew?
Joe Franses: Just how passionate our employees are about the importance of acting with urgency to address the sustainability challenges we face.
Independent Forums: Where do you see the biggest opportunity for transformation within the food system?
Joe Franses: Packaging waste is a huge challenge – and also an opportunity to move to circular systems.
Independent Forums: What are you most looking forward to at Future Food Systems 2022?
Joe Franses: Looking forward to hearing from like-minded, innovative companies, all of which are trying to solve the multiple sustainability challenges we face.
